Teaching Experience
I have over 15 years' experience as a private instrumental teacher. I started off teaching just a few pupils in the evenings alongside my office job. I quickly acquired enough pupils to be able to quit that office job and gradually grew my teaching practice up to 35 pupils. Since then Marie-Claire has moved from Edinburgh to Sheffield but was not able to convince all her pupils to move with her! She is now excited to be building up a new teaching practice in her home city.

Fellowship of Victoria College of Music - FVCM - When I was in sixth form I used to teach keyboards to beginners in my teacher's second studio. During this time I also studied and gained Diplomas in Music Teaching and Performance with the Victoria College of Music.

Bachelor of Arts - BA hons - The most recognisable of my qualifications. I studied Music at the University of Liverpool and graduated with a 2.1 honours degree. My principle study was the flute, I also undertook modules in music history, analysis, orchestration, composition as well as music business and technology.

Certification of Teaching awarded by the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music - CT ABRSM - This was a one year part time course which involved four weekend study sessions, video and live appraisals of my teaching, projects and course work. It really helped me to understand how to adapt my teaching to suit each pupil and in particular helped me to further develop specific strategies required for teaching adult pupils and those with Special Educational Needs including dyslexia, autism, ADHD and dyspraxia.
